Teamwork is an important and essential part of being a functional shinobi that contributes to the village’s economy and protection. Upon graduating the Academy, each genin is placed on a team which they will work with for many years, developing their interpersonal and cooperative skills. In the beginning, each team consists of three genin-level ninja freshly graduated from the Academy, as well as an adult (25+), jounin-level sensei who will mentor, supervise, and protect them as the genins begin to develop into full-fledged shinobi.[break][break]
While a team—which is typically this four-person cell construct—is not considered complete without these four people, there are cases where a sensei or a genin may die in the midst of a mission or due to an unrelated cause. Measures are usually taken to fill the gap eventually, such as the assignment of a new teammate or sensei. If a teammate’s rank is elevated (i.e. genin to chuunin), that does not mean they are no longer a part of the team. While a genius may surpass his or her teammates, a team is not considered finished until each member has successfully reached their full-potential, and that genius is expected assist their teammates in this endeavor.[break][break]
Teams are usually constructed based on an effort to balance out each genin’s strengths and weaknesses. For example, Naruto (least successful student) was placed on a team with Sasuke (highest skill level) and Sakura (highest written exam score). However, personalities and abilities are also considered when Genin teams are being made.[break][break]

TEAM EXAMPLES[break]
Team Kakashi: This sort of team would be what one considers an “Adventurer” team. Or, a team that is suited to a variety of missions, consisting of a wide variety of skills such as medicnin, tactical, and brute strength.[break][break][break][break]
Team Kurenai: This is a team that shows promise in the field “Tracking”. Each member has a specific skill suited to following and locating targets ranging from their Kekkai Genkai (Byakugan) to their clan’s traditions (Inuzuka and Aburame).[break][break]
Team Asuma: This team is somewhat similar to a well-rounded team, but their skills still mark them to be well-suited for an “Espionage” team. While they do possess a member with strong physical abilities, their teamwork and skill subsets makes them the equipped to handle infiltration and reconnaissance.[break][break]
Team Gai: This team is most certainly a “Combat” team. Each member is equipped with unique physical abilities, immense strength and endurance, as well as advanced battle prowess.
FINAL NOTES[break]
Please take the role of sensei seriously. It is imperative that these teams function as a unit, and that the sensei actively participates in helping their team succeed. Join teams!! Work with you team!! We want teams to be fun for everyone, and that means people need to plot and thread with their teammates! Some beginner team suggestions: A photo thread! Sensei’s traditionally take a photo with their team as a keepsake, and the teammates are allowed to keep a copy as well. Do missions!! The more missions you guys are interested in, the more keen we’ll be to put more up!
